Look for your brand champions

Who are your brand champions? These are the people that recommend you to others because they believe in what you do.

Your branding is about more than just you or your team. It's something that your customers choose to buy into as well.

It also has a far wider reach than just your products or services. Every single communication, interaction, and touch point in your business is part of your branding.

When people believe in your brand and enjoy what you offer, they're more inclined to share with others.

The most passionate fans will become your brand champions. They'll happily sing about your business from their rooftops and recommend you to others. You might even see them actively doing this on social media.

There are many different strategies when it comes to marketing.

You could choose to invest in paid ads on platforms such as Google or Facebook. You could invest in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to help your website become more visible in the search engines. You may even work with influencers who will promote your brand on their social media profiles.

Yet, so many businesses in this world rely on referrals. These are simple word of mouth recommendations made to friends, family members or colleagues.

Referrals are powerful. When a person receives a recommendation from someone that they trust, they're far more likely to take action. This inevitably leads to more enquiries and sales.
Make sure you look after your brand champions. Their passion for your brand is extremely valuable. It's something that money can't buy.

Anyone can create a paid ad and have that show up in front of a potential customer. Only a happy customer can share a referral with a friend that trusts them.

So I encourage you to look out for your brand champions. Identify them wherever you can and continue building your relationship with them. Perhaps you have a VIP program where they can get early access to your next products or services?

Taking the time to look after your brand champions will help to generate more referrals to your business. But it's not just about that. It also allows you to get more feedback and recommendations from the people that love your brand the most.

You never know, they might have a piece of feedback that completely changes the next year in business for you.
