#SERIES 61

Imagine another you

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you had a clone?

No, we aren’t at the beginning of a Sci-Fi movie. Instead, I wanted to talk to you about the potential of replacing yourself in your business.

When you run a business either as a solo business owner or with a small team, one of the first issues you’ll run into is not having enough time in your day.

A typical day could be taken up with a myriad of tasks. They’re all things where the buck stops with you, and they need to be completed in order to keep things moving.

It’s a familiar story that I hear from our clients regularly. They never have enough time in their day to get everything done, or they find that they become a bottleneck in their own business. I’ve even experienced this myself in my own business.

The obvious answer to this type of problem is to replace yourself in your business. You can hand over some of the tasks that are less important or that you don’t enjoy doing, to someone else.

An easy example of this type of process would be working with an accountant. Many small businesses work with an accountant to handle their accounts and / or bookkeeping.

This is a smart choice for the business owner as they have an expert helping them to ensure that everything is done properly. They may even benefit from tax deductions or opportunities that they weren’t aware of, due to the expert knowledge of their accountant.

There are likely some tasks that you’re doing right now in your business that you can outsource to someone else and free up some time.

For example, if we look at things from the perspective of your website or digital marketing, this could include:

  • Web Design
  • Copywriting
  • Website Updates
  • Graphic Design
  • SEO
  • Paid Ads

This is just a short list. There are a lot of other areas you could consider.

The easy way to get started is to make a list of all of the tasks that you are responsible for each week.

Once you’ve made the list, look through and pick out anything that you don’t enjoy or that would just be easier if they were off your plate. Now you’ve got a list of tasks where you can potentially replace yourself.

From here, you’d then just need to assign the tasks. If you have a team, this could mean that you assign the tasks to one of your employees. If you’re a solo business owner, then you’d want to speak to an agency, freelancer or virtual assistant - depending on the particular task that you need help with.

A simple audit of your weekly tasks could help you to replace yourself. As I said at the start of this email, you don’t even need a Sci-Fi movie or a real clone.

P.S. If you're interested in business automation that can run without yourself, I can teach you one thing or two. Just schedule a call with me and discuss it. You can book a call at a time and date that suits you on my calendar here. Book a meeting with me.
